Solo Ride along NH 32

Rider: Ram Bike: RE Thunderbird 350 CC Date: 11th June 2017 Total Kms: 470 Max Speed: 80 Kms/hr Duration: 14.5 Hours Ride Route Its been more than a month after my Kanyakumari trip and I badly needed an another after that. I had multiple options drafted out Rameswaram, Tirunelveli, Hampi were few among the list. Unfortunately, I couldn't come up with a proper dates for the same. Meanwhile, my mom asked me to go to my Kula deivam(Family God) temple which is close to my Native Place that is about 200kms from Chennai. Its going to be a one day ride. So, I thought I should be covering some more areas on this drive because basically having a total of 400 kms ride to visit just a single place is not of my type. So I drafted a simple plan. Saturday night I was still awake making plans till 1 AM. The next day I planned to start as early by 4 AM. With just 2.5 hrs sleep, I started early morning by 4.30 AM. Kinar Road: Highways + Village road Max Speed in Highways: 70Km...

Ride around Kumbakonam and Senji

Rider: Ram Date: Feb 1st to Feb 4th Bike: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350cc Total Distance: 770 Kms Its been 85 years since Gangai Konda Cholapuram Temple is Consecrated. 'Gangaikonda Cholapuram membattu Kuzhu' has made an effort to do it again to that majestic temple. How can a Chola lover like me could even think of missing this one? I took two days off Feb 2nd and 3rd prior and started my ride by late evening of Feb 1st. Earlier my Dad left to Chidambaram and said he would join me on 1st night. Since this is one of the proud moment for all Chola lovers, we couldn't find a place to stay there as all the room are mostly pre-booked. Fortunately, that is the place where my father is in work during his younger age and again he went on in search of his old friend. These were happening during my ride from Chennai. Again, he went on to the places he remember on search of his friend after 25 years and without any out-attempts he got his friend. They both shared the jo...

Solo Trip to Kanyakumari District

I never say it is been a long plan, but I managed to plan it a little ahead.  I had multiple options to cover out Starting from Coimbatore region, Rameshwaram and Nagercoil. Due to hot weather condition, I stick to one thing – NO BIKE. Yes. This time the plan was to go on in Public Transport. I had 3 days of holiday, but I planned to end the trip in 2 days. After many analysis, I confirmed as Nagercoil and listed out the places.  With whom? No one. Its my own world, Pakka Solo trip. Then Booking! No Trains. Hence booked in SETC on Friday evening 5.30. Since the mentioned travel hours is 12 Hours, I drafted the plan keeping in mind that I would reach there by 6 AM. I managed to book for the hotel at Kanyakumari. And return ticket in RKK Travels on Sunday Night. A day before the travel, I got an info from RKK Travels that their bus has been cancelled with an apology. That is a long weekend and getting bus cancelled mail is the worst nightmare that I could hear. With the...
